Government Agencies
Under NSW legislation Public Works and Procurement Regulation 2019, Clause 5 the Supply of goods and services by approved disability employment organisations allows a government agency to procure goods and services by a disability employment organisation with approval.
The Public Sector Employment and Management (Goods and Services Regulation 2010) Clause 27(1) states “A public sector agency may, without reference to the Board and the procedures prescribed by this Regulation, obtain goods or services that are supplied by a person or body approved as a disability employment organisation under this clause.”
Under the Disability Inclusion Act 2014 all NSW state and local government departments and other agencies are required to develop a Disability Inclusion Action Plan. Most agencies are guided by the plan stating social procurement as one area that can develop further – so working with a printer that employs people with disability is a tick.
